Almost everything in the world is relative. It depends on your perspective. Based on this principle, modern science proposes that there are no laws in the universe, only probabilities. When you throw a stone into the air, there's a percentage chance it will fall after losing its momentum (the force applied against gravity), and there's also a probability it won't fall at all.
From the Torah's perspective, this is true. However, the Torah proposes adding something to the system that is absolute, that is not subject to probabilities, and this is called God.
In other words, from both a scientific and a Torah perspective, time and space are relative. The Torah goes a step further and clarifies that there is something absolute, and that is God.
¿Nu? ¿Y qué tiene que ver con nosotros? Las ideas que la persona genera en su cabeza al respecto de diferentes asuntos dependen del juego de información que tenga. Viéndolo desde la perspectiva platense, ¿Quién entiende lo que es un Shabat? Un grupo reducido de personas anticuadas que aún insiste en reunirse para recitar ciertas palabras en hebreo de un libro llamado Sidur y en «sacar» la Torá para leerla (sin que nadie entienda qué está escrito!).
Esa es la perspectiva relativa. Sin embargo, cuando uno levanta un poco los ojos y se une a la perspectiva absoluta de la cuestión (por ejemplo, cuando uno se va a otra ciudad a pasar un Shabat en una comunidad donde se «pasa» Shabat) ve otra cosa: gente joven, matrimonios jóvenes, gente mayor, hombres y mujeres, disfrutan de estar juntos en un ambiente de descanso y relajamiento. Todos aprovechan la oportunidad para recargar energías materiales y espirituales para la semana, buscan momentos de meditación y unión con Di-s, retornan hacia sus fuentes, etc.
The Theory of Relativity is right. We'll see who dares to look up, to open their eyes, to increase the quantity and quality of information on which they base their ideas and conceptions of the world, and to connect with the absolute perspective of what is relative to us.
