Here we find a contradiction: wealth and poverty reigned in the same meal. This same meal, which on the one hand was utter perfection and possessed every flavor, generated in the consumer a feeling of distress and dissatisfaction. The truth is that there is no contradiction at all, but rather two sides of the same coin.<\/p>\n
He Man<\/i>, In its very essence, it was something extraordinary, a Divine, limitless bread. Precisely for this reason, when it descended into the limited, material world, the world was unable to absorb it and express its limitless characteristics in material definitions. The carnal eye cannot see infinite tastes, and therefore the Man<\/i> It generated a lack of satisfaction. In order to receive the Man<\/i> As it was in itself, unlimited, men had to rid themselves of their human limitations.<\/p>\n
Feeding on Man<\/i> In the desert, it constituted the preparation to fulfill the Torah and its precepts in the Land of Israel, giving the strength to overcome the two types of difficulties that man faces: the test of wealth and the test of poverty.<\/p>\n
Wealth harbors a danger: it can lead to the belief that one's own strength and power are responsible for success. The challenge of experiencing poverty is to attain the conviction that "no evil comes from above," and that even suffering comes from the Most High, who is absolute goodness.<\/p>\n
He Man<\/i> It offers us a lesson in both directions. The rich learn from Man<\/i>, that wealth comes from Above, and is not the fruit of human effort. The poor learn from Man<\/i>, that the Divine flow, as it comes from Above, consists of extraordinary goodness, only that it is not always perceived as such.
\nThe path to receiving the blessings that come from Above is to completely free oneself from the feeling of "my strength and the power of my hand," and to rely entirely on the Most High. When a person frees themselves from personal worries and believes in God, who is the Source of goodness and well-being, then they become worthy of seeing the blessing in the work of their hands and of receiving Supreme Goodness in the earthly world as well.<\/p>\n
The same applies on the spiritual plane: the path to receiving the light of the Torah, called "bread from Heaven," and especially the "inner part of the Torah" (Pnimiut HaTor\u00e1<\/i>), "which has no waste whatsoever" - it is through this that man becomes an "empty vessel," abstracted from his personal preconceptions. He becomes worthy of absorbing the infinite light of the Torah.<\/p>\n
