It specifies that three people must read, that there must be at least ten people present, and that no fewer than ten verses can be read. It covers the blessings recited by the reader, when they may read, and what to do if they make a mistake. It addresses whether one can skip passages within the same passage, whether reading from memory is permissible, and whether one can leave the synagogue while the reader is reading. It notes that since the time of Ezra, it has been customary to have a translator and outlines the rules governing the translation. It explains whether reciting the Haftarah from the Prophets counts as one of the seven and what the blessing is. It addresses the prohibition against women reading in congregation, the requirement that a Kohen read first, and whether a Kohen reads before a Sage. It also covers the rules regarding the absence of a Kohen, the reading of Chumashim in the synagogue, and the practice of rolling the Torah scroll in congregation.
