The Baal Shem Tov taught about the verse from Psalms, "Forever God, your word stands firm in the heavens," that the very word of God that initially created the universe is what constantly sustains it, in continuous renewal.<\/p>\n
To understand this idea, the example is: just as speech requires a person to exercise their ability to speak in order to sustain themselves, in other words, just as it is necessary for a person to actively speak in order to be heard, in the same way, God is constantly "speaking" to create the universe.<\/p>\n
If for an instant it were to stop doing so, just as a person's words would cease to be heard if they stopped speaking, the universe would cease to exist (God forbid).<\/p>\n
This teaches us about a universal system in constant renewal. A system that never stops "moving" and being changed and modified, recreated from absolute nothingness at every instant.<\/p>\n
In this spirit, each person's service to God must also be constantly renewed.<\/p>\n
This idea of constant renewal is mentioned in different aspects of Judaism, such as what our sages said about the words of the Torah, that they should be "as new in your eyes" every day, that is, there should be a new and higher attitude towards the Torah itself every day.<\/p>\n
Another example is the laws of family purity, where a new beginning is established for the couple on a regular basis. The same idea appears in the renewal of the soul each time a person sleeps and wakes up, to the point that our sages established a special blessing simply for waking up...<\/p>\n
The same applies to Beit Chabad La Plata. In this construction process that began almost two and a half years ago, the building has been renovated and changing shape and color almost daily. As it has progressed, new offerings and services have been implemented, including a synagogue (in exchange for a space without a floor and freezing cold), a patio and barbecue grill, a mikveh for women, and a mikveh for men, among other things.<\/p>\n
Now the time has come for the Library. The books of Beit Chabad have remained stored away all this time, waiting for the place they deserve. And it has arrived. Thanks be to God, the Beit Chabad Library is now up and running, with more than 100 volumes, primarily in Spanish, with some in English and Portuguese.<\/p>\n
These books are available to the community to borrow for a while (and then return, of course).<\/p>\n
From Jewish history and Hasidic philosophy to children's stories, the Library contains a vast treasure trove of wisdom.
