So far, the Alter Rebbe has explained what a soul is and where it comes from. Now he will explain what a soul is like and what its parts are.<\/span><\/p>\n

To understand this, here's an example: a person wants to build a house. First, they think about the house in general, visualizing it in their mind. Then they start thinking about every detail, like the rooms, the roof, the floors, and so on. They become so invested in the project that they make it their own, and they make sure nothing stops them from building the house.<\/p>\n

To move from desire<\/b> from building a house to action<\/b> concrete to put it into practice, Hashem<\/i> He gave ten special \u201cTools\u201d to the soul.<\/p>\n

Let's look at the example of the house with the "Tools" of the soul:<\/p>\n

1) The general idea \u2013 that is called Wisdom (Chokhmah<\/i>).<\/p>\n

2) The details of the idea \u2013 that's called Understanding (bin\u00e1<\/i>).<\/p>\n

3) Take the project seriously to get it done \u2013 that's called Understanding (daat<\/i>).<\/p>\n

These \u201cTools\u201d are called Intellect (sejel<\/i>), Hashem<\/i> He put them in our minds.<\/p>\n

(This is what Chabad means. Chabad Chabad is called that because we use our minds (sejel)<\/i>, the \u201cTools\u201d of Chokhmah<\/i>, bin\u00e1<\/i> y daat<\/i>, to learn about Hashem<\/i> and on how to serve it in the best possible way).<\/p>\n

Then there are the "Tools" of the heart, for our feelings.<\/p>\n

1) Wanting the project \u2013 that's called Kindness (Jesed<\/i>).<\/p>\n

2) To fear anything that might stop him \u2013 that's called Severity (guevur\u00e1<\/i>).<\/p>\n

These are the main \u201cTools\u201d of the heart, called Emotions (midot<\/i>There are more, seven in total, but all the others stem from those two. These feelings help us to truly build our house.<\/p>\n

(These are the names of the midot<\/i>: Jesed<\/i> (goodness), guevur\u00e1<\/i> (severity), Tiferet<\/i> (beauty), netzaj<\/i> (victory), hod<\/i> (radiance), Yesod<\/i> (foundation) and Maljut<\/i> (reign)).<\/p>\n

When Hashem<\/i> He created the world, and he also used these same \u201cTools\u201d.<\/p>\n

Using the Intellect to think<\/b> in Hashem<\/i> It makes us feel<\/b>, In our hearts, love and fear of Hashem<\/i>, Emotions. The Intellect has three \u201cTools\u201d that generate Emotions.<\/p>\n

Wisdom \u2013 Knowing that Hashem<\/i> It's more special than anything else.<\/p>\n

Understanding \u2013 Thinking about everything we know about Hashem<\/i> (for example, how He is everywhere).<\/p>\n

Understanding \u2013 Thinking about Hashem<\/i> It is important in our lives, which will cause us to spend a lot of time thinking about Him, and meditating on what makes us Hashem<\/i> be so important.<\/p>\n

We must make sure we use Comprehension (daat<\/i>), because it is the only way through which the Emotions will be strong and lasting.<\/p>\n

These are the emotions created by the intellect:<\/p>\n

Love (ahava<\/i>) \u2013 to be \u201cthirsty\u201d to meet Hashem<\/i>.<\/p>\n
