Today, the eyes of the entire Jewish people are upon the Land of Israel. This is generally true, as our past, present, and future are rooted in that portion of land that God entrusted to the Jewish people. And even more so now, as we fight for our right to exist.<\/p>\n
Observing the human body, we can see that each of its parts helps the others. When there is an injury to the leg, the head sends instructions to the hand, which retrieves the necessary medication and applies it gently to the injured leg.<\/p>\n
The Jewish people are one body. Each Jew is a member, or a part of a member. Our brothers are suffering: are we not going to do anything?<\/p>\n
One might say: What can I do? I live miles away from the conflict, I don't know how to handle a weapon or war tactics, etc.<\/p>\n
The Torah tells us that the spiritual state of the Jewish people directly influences their material state (as with the human body). When a Jew in Argentina or China performs a mitzvah, all Jews, everywhere in the world, improve.<\/p>\n
Now, one might say, "I don't believe in this, I'm not religious, etc." The question is: So what? Are you going to wait to find out for yourself while jeopardizing the well-being of Jewish parents, children, husbands, and young men fighting on the front lines?<\/p>\n
Think about it. It's good to do something for someone else from time to time, even if you don't enjoy it or want to do it yourself. Recite a chapter of Psalms, give a coin in tzedakah, study Torah, pray to God.
