Our parashah begins by talking about Shabbat. Shabbat is the seventh day of the week, on which we rest from 39 specific types of work in remembrance that God rested on the seventh day of creation.<\/p>\n
We find in our parashah an expression that we must understand. The Torah says, "Six days you shall labor, and the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord." In Hebrew, the words used to say "you shall labor" are: Tease Melaja<\/i>. When one analyzes these words carefully, one finds that the literal translation should be "the work will be done," that is, that it will be done by itself, not that someone else will do it (in the passive voice).<\/p>\n
