According to the Talmud, sleep is one sixtieth of death.

If sleep is a form of death, then it is also true that death is a form of sleep.

Sleep is not an end, nor an interruption of life. Rather, it is a time of nourishment, the means by which the body and soul recover their energy for a refreshed start to the day to come.

Death is the same. Death is a "descent for the sake of an ascent," the retraction of an arrow of life that can be propelled by the bow of emptiness with redoubled force.
