It's a well-known fact that children learn through play. Play has a fundamental role in cognitive and emotional development. Generally, parents take their children to schools, clubs, sports, and various social activities so they can develop and socialize.

However, there is an additional ingredient to consider when it comes to children's play: playing with their parents. The interaction between a parent and child through play is generally relaxed, fun, and open, creating an interpersonal bond on the child's terms, not on the adult's, which often seems boring and monotonous to the child.

During play, the child learns to enjoy his parents and feels important, valued, loved, and accepted just as he is: a child.

Furthermore, play can serve as preparation for studying. Play dissipates tension and anxiety and opens the mind to receive new ideas. The Talmud recounts that Rava, before giving a lecture, would tell a joke, the students would laugh, and then he would begin his discourse.
