As we have mentioned before, after the Torah reading on Saturdays, the Haftarah is read, a section from the prophets that speaks of a similar matter to the weekly Torah section.
Durante siete semanas, hay siete Haftarot especiales, que nuestros sabios denominan «Las siete [Haftarot] de consuelo».
Los comentaristas explican que hay una «conversación» entre Di-s y el pueblo judío plasmada en estas siete Haftarot:
1) God sends the prophets to comfort the Jewish people (najamú najamú amí).
2) The Jewish people respond that God left them, since He sent His prophets to comfort them (vatomer tzion azavani HaShem).
3) The prophets transmit to God the complaint of the people (anía soará lo nujamá).
4) God accepts the complaint and decides to console the people Himself (anojí anojí hu menajmejém).
5 and 6) God comforts the people in practice (roni akará, kumí orí ki bá orej).
7) In the end, the people are happy (sos asís ba).
If God knows what we think and want, why does He need to send His prophets and listen to the people's complaints before reacting?
The idea is that God wants us to demand. That it should come from within us. It's not the same when one simply does something out of obligation as when one develops in order to understand and incorporate something into one's own life.
If we want Redemption, we must ask for it. We want Messiah NOW!.
