When the Children of Israel left Egypt and arrived at the Sea of Reeds (Yam Suf), the miracle of the parting of the sea occurred before them. At that moment, God revealed Himself to all, to the point that each one could say, "This is my God, and I will glorify Him." this"" indicates that it is something revealed and attainable. About something we see with our eyes we can say "this." Our sages tell us that one of the differences between Moshe, the father of all the prophets, and the rest of the prophets, is that Moshe prophesied using the expression ""this "It is the matter that God commanded," indicating a high level of prophecy. At the parting of the sea, all the Jews were at this level.
Our sages also tell us that, at the moment of the miracle of the parting of the Red Sea, the children "recognized [God] first." Those children who had been born and raised their entire lives in the harsh exile of Egypt and knew no other way of life, it is written of them that "[God] fed them with honey from the rock and oil from the stone." God Himself took care to sustain and feed them during the harsh exile of Egypt, despite all the decrees against Jewish children. That is why, at the parting of the Red Sea, they recognized Him first.
Regarding the final redemption, it is written that "just as in the days of the Exodus from Egypt, I will show you miracles." The final redemption is compared to the redemption from Egypt, indicating that miracles and wonders will occur as in that time, and even greater ones.
In an era where Jewish values are being lost, we must ensure that our children have the tools that will allow them to successfully face the difficulties of being a minority among other peoples who have other customs, and yet keep their Jewish identity intact.
The Jewish way of dealing with the problems of daily life is to look to the Torah for the solution to those problems.
Just as in Egypt, the children who grew up there recognized God first, so it will be now, the children who were born and grew up in the present bitter exile, at the end of the exile, before the redemption begins to shine (as is known, that before morning the darkness is deepest), they will have the merit of recognizing God first.
And here lies the clear lesson we learn from the children born in Egypt. There they were fed "honey" and "oil," which symbolize the secrets of the Torah.
When it comes to the education and training of children who will acknowledge God first in the final redemption, no compromises can be made. No part of our Holy Torah can be left out. Even the Written and Oral Torah alone are insufficient. To educate the generation that will acknowledge God first, it is necessary to include in their studies the hidden aspects of Torah, the "honey" and "oil" of Torah, the philosophies of Kabbalah and Hasidism.
