Chabad La Plata's website has turned one year old!
It's a good opportunity to take stock.
First, we must understand the concept of a birthday in Judaism. Our sages tell us that on a person's birthday, their mazal—soul—predominates. That is, the person possesses a higher spiritual level than normal.
Perhaps we could say the same about the Chabad House website (despite not being a person...). This would mean that the Chabad La Plata website has a special significance because of its anniversary.
This anniversary marks several things: 1) maturity in the site's content; there is now a complete cycle of weekly Torah sections. 2) the site's format is sufficiently established to make it easy to navigate and provide the community with the services for which it was intended.
A website means information, availability, openness, and dissemination. Let's take advantage of it.
