We are approaching Passover, which symbolizes the liberation of the Jewish people from the Egyptians. There are countless details to explain regarding both the meaning of the holiday and how it should be celebrated, but these are beyond the scope of this article. Therefore, we will discuss one concept related to Passover and some of its laws.
The freedom of Passover and its current expression is the idea that true liberation is self-improvement. That is, one is free when one has no self-imposed limitations or limitations imposed by others (family, society, etc.). While we have physical and spiritual limitations, whether because our bodies prevent us from performing certain tasks or because the spiritual root of our soul determines certain aspects of our capacity for divine perception, each of us can nevertheless overcome these limitations and elevate ourselves personally. That is true freedom.
