Ingredients:
1 pound of large potatoes
3 tablespoons of oil
3 tablespoons of butter
1 medium onion, thinly sliced
Salt and pepper to taste

In a pot, put the potatoes with their skins in salted water. Once the water is boiling, reduce the heat and let them boil for 10 minutes. Drain and let cool completely. Peel and grate into large pieces or cut into thin strips.

In a frying pan, heat the oil, add the butter and fry the onion until translucent, add the potatoes, salt and pepper, stir

Gently mash the potato with a spatula until you get a flat cake, increase the heat and brown the cake on one side, then put the pan in a preheated oven at 350ºF, for 15 minutes.

Turn the cake over using a large plate, so that the golden side is facing up, and put the pan back in the oven for another 10 minutes.

Serve the cake whole or cut into slices
