This chapter explains that some blessings have an opening rather than a closing (with the word Baruch). For all commandments, one recites a blessing before fulfilling them. It explains the reason for the blessing "and sanctified us (God)" in rabbinic commandments. It explains why one does not recite a blessing for washing hands after a meal. It addresses the situation of someone who fulfills a commandment but does not recite a blessing. It covers the blessing for the immersion of a convert, which is recited after immersion. It discusses commandments whose action is not the end of their observance. It addresses commandments for which one recites a blessing at the moment of their performance. It explains whether one can recite a single blessing for many commandments. It covers matters for which one recites a blessing by the action or with the action. It addresses whether or not a blessing is recited for customary practices.
