This chapter explains that the widespread custom is to complete the Torah reading in one year, the order of the reading on Rosh Chodesh (the beginning of the month), and if it occurs on Shabbat, what the Haftarah is at the beginning of the month of Av if it occurs on Shabbat, the one who goes up to read begins with something good, the interruptions of the Haazinu section, the eight verses at the end of the Torah, the curses in the book of Vayikra and the curses in the book of Devarim, we interrupt for the holidays and for Yom Kippur, and what subject is read and how much, and that the person should always complete his Torah reading together with the congregation.
