This is the first book of the Mishneh Torah of the Rambam, Rabbi Moshe ben Maimon. Laws of Torah Study.
This chapter explains the laws regarding shaving one's hair, shaving both temples at once, the person being shaved, and a woman shaving the sides of her head. It details how many positive precepts she is obligated to fulfill, the measurement of the side, and how many sides there are. It also covers removing hair from the entire body, a woman not adorning herself with men's ornaments, collecting gray hair, and dyeing one's beard. Tattoos are discussed, as well as the consequences of inflicting five wounds and whether a warning is required. It addresses injuring and cutting oneself for a dead person, shaving another's head, and the measurement of the shaved area.
