The purpose of this chat group is to exchange relevant and accurate information about Bnei Noaj matters as expressed in authentic Judaism, based on the Written and Oral Torah. It is appropriate to ask, answer, and discuss questions.
As in any community, the personal interests of each participant are relevant; however, this is not the place to discuss politics or mundane matters (such as football, movies, etc.). Nor is this the place to have conversations simply because someone is bored, nor is it necessary to bring up topics just to pass the time.
Rules
These are the rules of the Chat whose objective is to generate a pleasant, enjoyable and healthy conversation experience.
The group has a moderator who is Rabbi Tuvia Serber.
Each user is validated by the rabbi and authorized, or not, according to his judgment. To join the group, you must send an email to the following address: bnei.noaj.app@gmail.com Upon requesting admission, the rabbi will ask for the following information: your true first and last name, proof of that (for example, with a photo of an identity document), and your express consent to abide by these rules.
Sharing personal information (such as phone number and address) is not permitted. Sharing your email address is allowed. However, the purpose of prohibiting the sharing of personal information is to prevent harassment and inappropriate messages; therefore, it is recommended that you do not share your email address publicly.
Each user will appear with their real name. Only text sharing is allowed; images and audio are not permitted. Emoticons are allowed.
Each user can delete their own messages, but not those of others. The moderator can delete any message they deem inappropriate.
It is forbidden to offend or insult any user without exception. If a disagreement arises, it will be resolved without aggression or expressions that could lead to misunderstandings. In any case, the rabbi will decide the halakha (Jewish law) regarding the disagreement.
You may share links to sites that help in understanding the matter at hand. However, links that lead to confusion may be deleted by the rabbi.
If a user does not respect the rules, after a single warning, they will be removed from the group.
The rabbi does not commit to answering every question, nor to doing so immediately.
User manual
In the Chat window, you can use the text box at the bottom of the screen to type your message. To send it, click the send arrow. If you want to cancel the message you wrote, use the circular cancel button to the right of the send arrow.
If you press and hold on a message for a couple of seconds, you can reply to that specific message. To cancel your reply, press the circular cancel button.
Each message contains a delete icon and a share icon.
The Search window will allow you to search through previous messages. Each message that matches your search will appear with a share icon.
The Users window lets you see each chat user and their nationality. The lightbulb on the left indicates whether that user has recently used the chat (yellow) or not (gray).
The Countries window will allow you to see the total number of Chat users and the number of users per country.
The Languages window will allow access to the different Chat rooms divided by language.
The Help window will take you to this same text.
Clicking "Log Out" will disconnect you from the chat so you will no longer receive notifications of incoming messages and you will need to re-enter your username and password to participate in the chat.
