The Baal Shem Tov explained that God constantly renews creation. The example that Hasidism uses to understand this idea is that of speech. When a person speaks, they create, so to speak, a sound, while when they are silent, that sound ceases to exist. The Torah says that God created the universe using His word, which leads us to conclude that as long as God is, so to speak, "speaking," the world will exist, and if, at any point, He were to stop speaking, God forbid, the world would cease to be, as if it had never existed.
Furthermore, we cannot even say that God spoke 5773 years ago and His word remains fixed, as if disconnected from its source, creating the universe. God is constantly exercising His creative power to bring all of creation into existence.
This idea of the creative power of the word is not exclusive to God. It is clear that any human being is capable of creating entire worlds with their words. Now, not a material world, as God did and constantly does, but intellectual and emotional worlds, like any teacher who instills ideas in their students, like any friend who creates feelings in the other's heart simply by talking... In fact, the Torah says that God created man "in His own image and likeness," which means, in simple terms, that we possess many divine qualities, at our level.
This leads us to ask what we learn from God's constant renewal of the universe. One idea is that we should be in a constant state of renewal, always striving to improve what exists—in the world around us, in the people around us, and within ourselves.
In this spirit of renewal, we are, so to speak, giving the Beit Chabad La Plata website a facelift. This change will offer new services, such as site search and, most importantly, the ability to leave comments wherever you like. This will give visitors a greater sense of participation, allowing for interaction and the exchange of ideas—moments in which true knowledge and depth emerge.
Of course, as with all changes to grow, one takes a few steps back to take many steps forward, so many parts of the site are not yet finished and it will take some time until everything is functional.
This change to the website will result in a change to the newsletter. From now on, only the Editorial will be sent by email (and will also be available on the website), while the other sections will only be available on the website, so you can comment on them and review them at your leisure. Over time, the Editorial will also become exclusively available on the website.
