Greeting and Blessing:

Having heard about you through mutual friends that you are searching for the true path that every Jew should follow in life, although second-hand information is always difficult to assess, I trust that the following lines will be of help to you.
The importance of heredity in transmitting physical, mental, and spiritual characteristics is well known and obvious, even across multiple generations. This is especially true when a characteristic is transmitted and intensified over many uninterrupted generations, becoming an integral part of the individual's very essence and being—their very nature.
It is also clear that when a person, as is the case with all living beings, wants to change an innate characteristic that is deeply rooted in him, let alone something that touches his essential nature, it would demand tremendous efforts and the result is destined to be destructive rather than constructive, creating a terrible disorder in him, with the most unfortunate results.
I have in mind, in particular, those Jews, men and women, who, belonging to one of the oldest nations in the world with a documented history of over 3,500 years, are naturally and innately connected to the Jewish people with every fiber of their being. Therefore, those sects or groups that have tried to separate themselves from the true Jewish way of life of Torah and mitzvot cannot survive, as history has amply demonstrated. These dissident groups have become uprooted from their natural environment, and far from being constructive, they have become the worst enemies of the Jewish nation and its most relentless persecutors.
Only those Jews who have faithfully adhered to the Torah and the mitzvot, as revealed at Mount Sinai, have survived all their persecutors, for only through the Torah and the mitzvot can the Jewish people be linked to the Higher and Supreme Power, God, who gave us the Torah and our way of life.
Since the Torah, the mitzvot, and the Jewish way of life come from God and His infinite wisdom, they are not subject to human approval or selection. Human reasoning is necessarily limited and imperfect. Its shortcomings are obvious; while it improves and acquires knowledge with study and time, personal opinions also change. To confine God to human judgment would violate even common sense.
Throughout our long history, we have had some of the most brilliant human minds, who nevertheless recognized their limitations when it came to understanding God, His laws, and precepts. We have had great thinkers and philosophers who not only accepted the Torah and the mitzvot but were the guiding lights that have led us to this day. Meanwhile, dissenting groups and individuals (whose numbers are very small) have been separated from our people and have either disappeared entirely or, worse, continue as painful thorns in the flesh of our people and humanity in general. Anyone familiar with our history needs no further illustrations or proof of the above.
I trust that you will reflect on the above and appreciate the sacred and profound knowledge that has been passed down from generation to generation, from the revelation at Mount Sinai to the present day. Accepting this tradition unconditionally and without question does not mean there is no room for intellectual understanding.
Within our limitations, there is much we can understand and enhance, provided we approach it correctly. For God, in His infinite grace, has given us insight into various aspects of His commandments—an insight that grows and deepens as we practice them in our daily lives and make them our everyday experience. In this way, the Jew attains true peace of mind and a happy and harmonious life, not only spiritually but also physically, and fully understands how blessed one is to be a son or daughter of this great and holy nation, our Jewish people.
