We are approaching the beginning of the month of Sivan, when the Jewish people, more than 3300 years ago, camped in front of Mount Sinai to receive the Torah on Shavuot (6th of Sivan).
El tiempo desde la perspectiva judaica es una especie de espiral, donde uno siempre pasa por los mismos lugares del círculo, sólo que en diferentes niveles. Esto significa que la misma energía que brilló en el 1ro de Siván «original», brilla en el 1ro de Siván, 3318 años después.
La preparación, de parte del pueblo judío, para recibir la Torá, fue la unión – ajdut. Como dice la Torá: «Y acampó Israel frente al Monte», «acampó» en singular, «como un hombre, con un corazón».
Receiving the Torah means, among other things, that we have the tool with which we can achieve the goal of our very creation: the refinement and elevation of ourselves and the world around us.
It follows from this that preparation for achieving the fullness of life itself is unity. Only when we all set aside our personal agendas and affairs for the sake of the community, for a higher, shared collective goal, will we be able to reach communal wholeness.
Todos tenemos necesidades e intereses personales, pero debemos aprender a apreciar que Am Israel – el Pueblo de Israel – trasciende a todos nuestros intereses individuales. Debemos empezar a pensar en comunidad.
