We announce daily the coming of the Messiah and the dawn of the Messianic Age, an era of global peace and elevated existence. However, some people misunderstand what this new world will bring. They envision their previous life as completely over. They think: Will everything I built and achieved, my business and personal relationships, be meaningless?
The Hebrew word for Final Redemption is Geulah, which implies the opposite of this thought. Geulah is composed of the word Golah (exile) with the addition of an Aleph, the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet. This means that the state of Geulah (redemption) includes everything positive in our current life, the Golah (exile). Everything, only with the addition of the Aleph element.
The Aleph refers to "Alufo shel Olam," the Master of the World. The condition of Golah allows for the manifestation of evil: material considerations distort Divine truth and remain between humanity and its Creator. In the age of Geulah, the intrinsic good of our present life will come to light. The world of Messiah is not a negation of what we are now. On the contrary, it is the perfection and improvement of those very elements."
