Summary of parashat Koraj

Korah incites a mutiny by challenging Moshe's leadership and the surrender of the Kehuná (priesthood) to Aharon. Two enemies of Moshe, Dathan and Aviram, and 250 distinguished members of the community join the mutiny, offering the saint. ketoret (incense) to prove they are worthy of the priesthood. The earth opens and swallows the rebels, while fire consumes the offerings of ketoret.
A subsequent plague is stopped by the offering of ketoret of Aaron. His staff miraculously blossoms with almonds to prove that his appointment as High Priest is of Divine origin.
God indicates the laws of Truma (offerings) from each harvest of grain, wine and olive oil, all the firstborn of sheep and cattle, along with other specific gifts given to the Kohanim.
