How did He make the world?
First, He thought to Himself, "I desire light. I desire love. I desire acts of kindness and beauty." And He saw that this was good.
Then He turned that light away. Like a person who sets aside their dreams to begin the work that will make them possible, so too the Creator turned away the vision He had originally desired.
And He made a world. As if that were the whole point, a world for the sake of a world.
Only much later in history did someone hear a whisper, "Do you know the true purpose for which I made this world?""
Now you know why reality is harsh and love is gentle.,
Why does apathy flow easily while kindness must climb mountains?,
Why is light always the intruder in the boundless empire of darkness?.
And yet, in the end, light is the hidden destiny of all that exists.
