Some grow like wheat in the field, emerging from the earth and ripening in a single season. But their product is such that it must be hulled, ground, refined, kneaded, and baked before it provides any good to the world, and much is wasted.

Others grow like the date palm, which can take seventy years before bearing its first fruit. But it is a sweet and satisfying fruit to the hand that picks it, and every part of the palm and its fruit provides something of value.

Plow and sow. The fruits will come.
