    1. No! It's one thing to fulfill a commandment, which requires the action itself and at least a basic understanding that it's a divine commandment. It's quite another to delve into and explore the relationship between humanity and God in order to improve it and make the most of it. This latter aspect is where the thought lies. If a person observes the Torah because it seems rationally correct to them, as long as the action is performed according to the laws of the Torah, they have fulfilled the mitzvah, but, at their core, they have served themselves, not God. Do you understand?
