A house full of books

A container is defined by its contents. If a bottle still contains a little water, it's common to say "pass me the water.".

Your home is also defined by its contents. Beyond those who live there, the most significant objects are the Torah books on the shelves. They transform the atmosphere in which you live.

There's another advantage to filling your home with Torah books: You or your children could pick one up and read a little. And then, perhaps even start asking questions. Be careful: that habit can become ingrained.

We treat books with respect: we kiss them when they fall, we always place them with the cover facing up, with the text right-side up, and we don't use them for anything other than studying (and not, for example, to support the monitor).

You can start by acquiring the most basic books and grow from there. Here is a short list of books that are available in Spanish:

Chumash, the Five Books of Moses.
Tehillim, Psalms of David.
Siddur, a prayer book.
Tanakh, The Bible.
Kitzur Shulchan Aruch, a summary of the laws of the Jewish people.
Tania, a very important work of Hasidic philosophy and Jewish thought.
