Honesty isn't enough. You must do the right thing.
Why is this? Why can't we be judged solely by our intentions?
So that we know we are small, and the truth is very large. It is the truth that is at the center of the stage, and we are the ones who orbit around it.
It is interesting that in some cases we should not tell the truth.
Our words can be very damaging, and several commentators prudently recommend not telling the whole truth. For example, if we know of a wrongdoing by a deceased person that had no consequences, we shouldn't mention it, even if asked.
