You must take ownership of those important things in life: the charity you give, the good deeds you do, the Torah you study and teach, etc.
You can't just say, "This is God's business, He'll have to take care of it." It should hurt when it doesn't work; it should dance with joy when you do.
That is why God created the "Self": so that we do these things as owners and not just as employees.
Good teaching, the important thing is that people put it into practice! Amen
